Here at Steel Horse Colombia we are truly grateful for the warmth and support of the Colombian people in helping us achieve our dreams. Now we are giving back and joining forces with Niños Del Futuro to host a transformative young leaders retreat that will change the lives of a very special group of young people, Chefs del Futuro. The work these young chefs do to feed their community is extraordinary. Their maturity, teamwork, compassion for others is incredible. With our young Leaders retreat we will lift them up and inspire them even more so in turn they can inspire their peers and community.
Steel Horse will be launching a life-changing retreat in June 2025 with Niños Del Futuro, an official Dutch foundation that has been empowering children and youth in Colombia for the past five years. We will be bringing 30 promising young leaders from Barrio La Honda in Medellin to our finca in Filandia to experience five days of growth, mentorship, and empowerment.
Mission
To support, inspire and empower young leaders who, in turn, will uplift and empower other kids in their peer groups, breaking the cycle of poverty and strengthening communities for the future.
Vision
This retreat is all about the kids who are already shining stars in their communities. These are the kids who lead by example, help others, and are the true superheroes of their neighborhoods. They’ve earned their place here, and by lifting them up, cheering them on, and celebrating all the amazing things they do, we hope to inspire even more kids to step up and show what they can do.
The kids, already shining examples in their communities, will have the chance to connect with nature, learn from inspiring mentors, and develop skills that will help them lead
the way for future generations. Inspired by Igor’s journey and vision, this year’s retreat will
take on a space theme, reminding kids that their dreams have no limits—beyond borders, beyond Earth itself. While they will still experience the power of nature, adventure, and
mentorship, the theme of space will challenge them to think bigger, explore new possibilities, and embrace the unknown.
Through storytelling, science, and hands-on experiences, we will inspire them to see that just like the universe, their potential is infinite. From space-inspired challenges to visionary mentorship, we will encourage them to dream boldly, push boundaries, and believe that nothing is out of reach.

In “Chefs del Futuro,” kids cook, serve, and clean for one another—building empathy, teamwork, and pride in supporting their peers.
POSITIVITY, FUN & EDUCATION
Nature workshops led by biologists spark curiosity and language skills while kids explore Colombia’s wildlife and practice English in a playful, hands-on setting. These playful, hands-on experiences not only ignite curiosity and joy but also build language skills, environmental awareness, and a deeper appreciation of the world around them.
