Steel Horse Filandia is set in a 4 hectare farm. Currently our fields beyond the gardens are very overgrown, but in the future we plan to use part of the land for a nature reserve and also grow coffee and keep horses for trekking. We are slowly making our way towards being environmentally friendly and self sufficient by growing our own fruit and vegetables, collecting eggs from our chickens and using solar energy.
Our immediate neighbours are coffee farmers and cattle farmers, and we are surrounded by a protected nature reserve filled with exotic plants and a huge diversity of animals and birds.
We often have baby calves visiting the farm and it is a common sight to see Colombian Cowboys herding their livestock past our finca in the mornings and evening.
